An exercise in imagination and a remarkable transformation from a supermarket distribution centre to a new home for Marian College.

When Armitage Williams took on the challenge of turning Foodstuffs’ distribution centre in Northcote into a fully functional and modern school for Marian College’s four hundred students, they knew they needed a cleaning company that would stay the distance and be there when needed. They chose Mirror Image because they knew we had the expertise and experience to deliver quality results from the first day of construction to the final handover.

It was a massive project, which included the construction of a chapel, twenty-six classrooms, a gymnasium, four multi-use indoor courts, and a performing arts centre, all under one giant canopy. The centre-piece chapel featured a large cross made from the wood of an oak tree from the old Shirley site and a star-lit ceiling that represented the night sky from when the school first opened in 1982.

Once a week, over the two-year building period, our staff were onsite at 6.30 am, cleaning the building site sheds, offices, meeting rooms and toilet blocks. We also provided consumables for the site, ensuring the builders could focus on their mammoth task of turning a giant shed into a dream school for the students to learn in.

Our experienced team of cleaners and window cleaners, working at height and ticketed for high-access equipment, reached every nook and cranny of the complex project.

We delivered a thorough polish once the build was complete, highlighting the exceptional construction undertaken by the builders.

A job well done by all involved; we look forward to the next project with Armitage Williams. Congratulations to Marian College for dreaming big and seeing the potential of the existing site.
